Bill Pullman receives 'Excellence in Acting' award at Woodstock Film Festival for  'The Ballad of Lefty Brown'

October 18, 2017

Bill Pullman received the "Excellence in Acting" award at the Woodstock Film Festival for his performance in the title role of "The Ballad of Lefty Brown".  Jared Moshe, Writer-Director of the film, nominated Pullman for the award and presented it to him.  Moshe wrote the part of Lefty Brown for Pullman.  When asked which of Pullman's film performances inspired him to make that choice, he said: "All of them."

"The Ballad of Lefty Brown" tells the story of a longtime sidekick who suddenly finds himself alone, betrayed and accused of murder when his partner is murdered.  He struggles to find the wits, courage and guts to set things right in a brutal, changed world where no one thinks he is up to the job.
