"Malice" Reviews

Vanessa (vje1@axe.humboldt.edu) :
This is a very weird movie. At first you think you understand what is going on and then suddenly there is an unexpected, wild plot twist. Bill Pullman plays Nicole Kidman's husband and also a dean at some college. There is a side plot too that is never really explained why in the world it exists in this movie. (Oh yeh, Alec Baldwin is in it too, he plays a surgeon).

I thought Bill did a great job in this movie, despite the plot. The other actors were great too, but I think they needed a whole different script... Alice Zemaitis (azemaiti@staff.uiuc.edu) :
I really enjoyed this movie and seeing Bill Pullman get the revenge he deserves. I thought he was excellent as Andy Safien and I cheered for him throughout the movie right up to the end. I enjoyed all the twists and turns in the movie and the fact that it kept you guessing what in the world could happen next! I could also identify with Bill's character since I am a teacher and I work at a University and I particularly enjoyed his line, "If you want something done right, -- -- you ask a teacher!!" All I can say after this one is GO BILL!! Cynthia :
I like this movie a lot. I'm a fan of both Nicole Kidman and Bill Pullman and both actors had dynamic roles. It also seems more a Bill Pullman movie than an Alec Baldwin movie. Susan :
This flick is almost, but not quite, as good as the Last Seduction. Nice plot twists, good acting. Definitely the worth viewing. Ruth (Jessybeth@aol.com):
Wasn't too keen on this flick until I read a journal article on the web called "Malice: New American Hero" where she dissects the film almost scene by scene. Now I'm going to have to rent it again. Check out the article at: http://jefferson.village.virginia.edu/pmc/issue.194/review-7.194.html Lisa Alop (alop@u.arizona.edu) :
First of all this movie gets 3 stars only because Bill Pullman is in it. Can I just say this movie confused the hell out of me. First we have a plotline about trying to find a serial rapist. I'm expecting it to be Jed, why else is he in the film? Instead we get a janitor who we don't even see until Andy figures out he is the rapist. Then we switch over to Jed's reason for being in the film, he and Tracy are plotting against Andy for insurance money. The whole movie didn't make much sense to me, but I loved the ending where the kid ended up being blind. Also, like I said, the only reason I thought this movie was worth seeing was because of Bill Pullman. lisa :
The movie was somewhat confusing, but that's what makes it good. The ending was terrific how Bill Pullman"s character got his revenge. To see is wife leave in a police car had to be uplifting after the way she did him. Oran & Elie Palmer (elieoran@gte.net) :
To those who found the sub-plot confusing and the serial rapist situation superfluous....remember that it had to be proved that Andy (Bill Pullman) was not the rapist in spite of evidence at the crime scenes (the murdered girls had been with him). This was demonstrated when the policewoman required the semen specimen from Andy which showed that he was not the rapist and was also sterile and could not have been the father of Tracy's (Nicole Kidman) baby which was aborted by Dr. Hill (Alec Baldwin). This sub-plot provided the necessary explanation. Anonymous:
A wonderful characterization again proving the ability of Bill Pullman to extend his acting skill and still prove the character to be believable. His scene with Anne Bancroft was superb.....two expert and talented actors. He is truly adorable! And that mouth is so sensuous!!!!!. Lucky his wife is!!! OW & E Palmer (elieoran@gte.net):
The scene between Bill and Anne Bancroft was priceless. Two professionals giving us a GREAT performance. Kidman did such a good job..she made us detest the character. LACEY (LAC18@HOTMAIL.COM):
This movie is one of my favorite BP movies!! I think Billy did pretty damn good for his first naked love scene!! To bad it ended up getting shafted by Nicole Kidman. But all and all this was a great movie w/ a great plot!!
