Congratulations to Bill!

On May 19, Mary Anne went to see The Goat for the second time (who wouldn't?) and also delivered a Book of Congratulations from the Fan Club.  The Book contained personal notes from the members, along with various glowing critic reviews. It also included pictures of the group taken with Bill in February.  Thanks to Mary Anne for getting the book together so quickly and for making a successful "drop". A special thanks to Nika Sancho for the great work on the covers for the book, and for all the fab screen savers & other graphic work he does for the group.

Mary Anne's account of that night, along with some pics are up.  More pictures and notes from

 More Critical Plaudits

“Bill Pullman has an innocent air that makes him perfect as the love-silly Martin. He handles his big emotional revelations skillfully and his scenes with his son gracefully.”

New York Daily News

Howard Kissel

“On stage, ….. he is dazzling for his bewitching naturalness and the sheer technique of his acting.”

 NY Post

Clive Barnes

“As Martin, Bill Pullman is the perfect embodiment of the 50-year-old successful American. He is neat, well spoken, witty, and charming. He is also completely engaged and connected to the fundamental truth of his character, so that when he talks about not seeing his love as a problem, or saying he could have dealt with this eventually on his own, his tragedy and betrayal by his friend are achingly real.”

“Ruehl and Pullman, two extremely poised actors, proceed to reinforce this illusion with well-timed exchanges, by turns loving and acerbic, compassionate and witty.”

Lesbian and Gay New York Newspaper

Christopher Byrne

“In the hardest role, Mr. Pullman is modest and utterly focused, committed to Martin's truth at every moment.”

 New York Times

Margo Jefferson

Personal Messages for Bill from the group

On Sunday May 19, 2002 I went to New York with my husband and daughter to see “The Goat”.  There’s been a major change at the John Golden Theater.

Now quotes from the excellent reviews the play has gotten are posted above and around the theater.  I took pictures and will post them on the list soon. At this point, “The Goat” has won the New York Drama Critics’ Award, Outer Critics’ Circle Award and Drama Desk Award for Best New Play as well as being nominated for the Tony award for Best New Play.
