Bill Pullman has a history with Beth Henley

Actually, Bill Pullman, Ed Harris, Glenne Headley, and Amy Madigan were all involved in early readings of "The Jacksonian". Pullman and some other cast members are part of a group in LA who meet with Beth Henley to do readings of her latest works.
Pullman played Carl Willard in a 1993 Los Angeles production of Henley's "Control Freaks"--the only play of hers that Henley has directed.
Actress-Writer Camilla Carr describes Pullman's performance in that production: "Bill Pullman's 'Carl' was simply magnificent. Frightening and funny, sinister and loveable, that confusing breed of humanity: a charming, compelling, revolting demonic paradox."
The Geffen Playhouse describes "The Jacksonian" as "a surreal trip that is rife with disturbingly dark humor."
